Finally.... The Bugatti

There’s nothing I hate as much as being on the road driving behind a driver who is driving at the speed of 10 Km/h on a stretch where he could do 200 Km/h if he wanted to. Worse still, you realize that the said driver is doing this on a segment of road where there’s no one else in front of him, meaning there’s enough road up ahead but he just won’t take advantage of it!

Change Ahead ...

For the last one week I've been learning a major lesson in adapting to change. I have to admit that at no point in my life had I ever imagined that simple things such as which side of the road one should drive on would ever be a problem for me. Until I stepped out of my usual sphere of operation (read comfort zone) and travelled to the Horn of Africa. Well, let's just say everything about this place is a complete contrast to what I'm used to.

Forget the Past

Forgetting the past and moving on is easier said than done.

Enough times I have struggled with many elements of my past but thankfully with prayer and trust in God, I have been able to let go. Maybe you are in such a place right now, a place of being unable to let go. If you can say this prayer and mean it, I believe you will get the strength to let go and let God.

Heavenly Father,

The Rear View

People do odd things when they are bored. Say for instance the guy I saw the other day trying to run backwards on a treadmill. I don’t really know what he wanted to achieve but if you ask me, that’s more like courting disaster, but like I said, guys do some really odd things when they are bored. Of course seeing this guy doing what he was doing on the treadmill got my ever active mind wandering.

De-cluttering your clutter

You never know how much “clutter” you’ve accumulated over the years until the day you are moving houses or for whatever reason you decide to re-organize your house or just one of the rooms, say your bedroom for example.

In the face of adversity, do you conform or transform?

Earlier this week I had the rare opportunity of going through a few things basketball. Actually, I have to admit it all started when I went looking for some inspiring and motivating video clips on youtube. I had no specific category in mind but then somehow I landed on sportsmen. There were quite a number of them but the one that really inspired me was one about a 6-6 sized basketball legend who wears shoe size 13. Infact, he was so phenomenal during his time that Nike named a shoe brand after him.

Planning is not an option; it's a requirement.

I'm not sure but my guess is that when Martin Cooper, (a Motorola employee then) stood in midtown Manhattan in 1973 and placed a call to the headquarters of Bell Labs in New Jersey he probably didn't have a clue as to what he had just invented. I mean if the mobile phone was a human being, by now that baby (mobile phone) that was born on 3rd April, 1973 would be 41 years and 4 months old and as would be expected at that age, s/he should be a mature human being by now.
