"When you walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen; either there will be something solid for you to stand upon, or you will be taught to fly" Well, those are the words of Patrick Overton taken from his poem "The Leaning Tree". Unfortunately though, not many of us ever find out whether they would have grown wings or not.

It's been a while since I failed you my readers by not submitting an article for this column. Last week this happened and for that I sincerely apologize. I was down with malaria, some strange flu (but not dengue thankfully) and a nasty cough that made my chest sound like a bass drum that's never been tuned. After having my bedroom transformed into a mini pharmacy, I'm glad I'm better.

There are times in life when things just don't seem like they are working out for you, times when everything you touch "seems" to go wrong. I say "seems" in quotes because even though things look like they are going terribly wrong, it doesn't always translate to negative results. The thing is, as human beings we want so much to get results as soon as we want them that patience has become a foreign term/word in our vocabulary.
