It’s easy to think satisfaction comes from getting what you want. That dream job. That bigger space. That recognition you've worked so hard for. And yes, those things are good. Necessary, even.
But over time, I’ve learned that the deepest kind of satisfaction doesn’t always come from chasing what you want. It comes from helping others get what they need. From showing up for people. From seeing a gap and choosing to fill it. From lifting someone, even when you’re waiting for your own breakthrough.
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 20 – 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 by John Mason
There are moments in life where fear creeps in, and sometimes this fear is baseless… sometimes it’s just fear of the unknown.
Then come the whispers of self-doubt, and the moments when you stop believing in yourself, in your abilities, in what you bring to the table. And as if that’s not enough, comparison steps in making it feel like everyone else is ahead while you’re stuck figuring things out.
So… last week, I promised to share what happened when an unexpected opportunity knocked on my door—or rather, slid into my inbox—thanks to the blog I had started way back in 2011.
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 25 – Figuring It Out by Mustapha Seidine
You know that saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? Well… this recommendation is a living reminder of just that.
I first met Mustapha Seidine at a conference, and to be honest, I completely misjudged him. On that day, he was the guy behind the camera — quiet, focused, doing his thing. I assumed he…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 24 – Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
I first stumbled upon this gem while reading Who Will Cry When You Die? by Robin Sharma. In one of the chapters, he referenced a man who met with his dying mentor every Tuesday to talk about life.
That one reference stayed with me.So I did what I often do when a book finds me: I went looking for it.And…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 23 – The Messy Middle by Scott Belsky
I first heard about this book while listening to a podcast, and I have to admit—it couldn’t have come at a better time.
We’re smack in the middle of the year—according to the Gregorian calendar.A point where many of us are quietly looking back at the past six months wondering what worked, what didn’t, and…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 22 – The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett
I know it’s a popular title, and you’ve probably seen it on shelves, in reels, or on someone’s desk. But this time, it’s not just another trending read. It’s the right book for this moment.
There are seasons when we need deep reflection, not just about what we’re doing—but why we’re doing it, how we’re showing…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 21 – The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama
After writing today’s #StorySaturday post about how one act of obedience turned into a life-changing connection, I knew exactly which book needed to be this week’s recommendation.
The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama is a gentle but powerful reminder that sometimes, what we think is just an ordinary moment—a…

📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 19 – 𝑷𝒖𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕 by John C. Maxwell
After writing today’s #StorySaturday post, I couldn’t help but think of this book as my next recommendation.
When I look back at how this whole blogging journey began—with nothing but a story about a traffic jam and the courage to hit “publish”—I realize that was me, unknowingly, putting my dream to…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 18 – 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑾𝒊𝒏, 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 by John C. Maxwell
Last Saturday, I didn’t post a #Shelfie. Not because I didn’t want to, but because life happened—circumstances beyond my control.
And honestly? That’s exactly why this week’s recommendation makes so much sense.
𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑾𝒊𝒏, 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 by John C. Maxwell is one of those books…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 17 – Start with Why by Simon Sinek
So… remember the #StorySaturday series I launched today? As I shared the story of how I got my first job, it made me pause and reflect, not just on what happened, but on why it mattered so much.
Looking back I admit I didn’t know much then, but I knew I had one why; to find money to take myself to college.
That was my…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 16 – The Power of One More by Ed Mylett
Last Saturday, Easter took over and I forgot to post a book—my apologies! But here we are, back at it again, and today’s recommendation couldn’t be more fitting.
This week, I’m recommending The Power of One More by Ed Mylett.
Because sometimes, success, healing, breakthrough—it’s all just one more away.➡️ One more…
📚#SaturdayShelfie: Book No. 15 – Goals! by Brian Tracy
Meeting my goal and finally seeing a 13-year dream come true could’ve easily made me relax, settle, stagnate—and probably even feel a little lost. But thanks to something I learned a while back, I knew better.
So I checked this one off… and now I’ve moved on to the next. That's how much having other goals lined up is…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 14 – Beyond Talent by John C. Maxwell
I had such a crazy day—playing in the mud and rain (true story!)—that I completely forgot today was #ShelfieDay. But here we are, better late than never!
This week’s book recommendation is once again inspired by the recent breakthrough I had with @nurturenest.hub. If there’s one powerful lesson I’ve learned through…
📚#SaturdayShelfie: Book 13 – Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Yesterday, I shared a dream that has taken 13 to happen. It came with years of silence, setbacks, and doubt—but I kept the dream alive, kept preparing, and when the opportunity finally came, it all made sense.
That’s why today’s book is so personal.
I’ve read Shoe Dog many times before, but after witnessing my own long-…
📚#SaturdayShelfie: Book 12 – The Top Five Regrets of the Dying by Bronnie Ware
In the past few weeks, I’ve caught myself reflecting on some of the decisions I’ve made throughout my adult life—choices I wish I could undo, paths I wish I had taken, words I wish I had spoken… or kept to myself. And in those quiet moments, I found myself wishing for something we never truly get—…
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 11 – Master Your Emotions by Thibaut Meurisse
Today, something happened that made me realize just how important this book is. Many people have lost their destinies simply because they never learned how to master their emotions. They’ve lost opportunities, relationships, and even their sense of self—all because they lacked self-control and, most…
If you’ve been following the last few #StorySaturday posts, then you’ll remember the journey that started with a keynote in 2017 and led me to Heritage Insurance Company — and ultimately to the beginning of a book club. Now, that book club might have seemed like just another client activity, but in hindsight, it would quietly open doors I didn’t even know existed.
📚 #SaturdayShelfie: Book 21 – The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama
After writing today’s #StorySaturday post about how one act of obedience turned into a life-changing connection, I knew exactly which book needed to be this week’s recommendation.
Last week, I missed our usual #StorySaturday. Life was a bit full, and by the time I remembered on Monday… well, Saturday had already passed me by. So, here I am—back, and picking up from where we left off.
If you remember, I shared how a simple act of sitting quietly in a café reading a book led to an unexpected conversation… and that conversation opened the door to a whole new world I hadn't planned for. (If you missed that post, you might want to scroll back and catch up 😉)
The last few weeks have been… a lot.
I’ve been on the road and in the sky—between cities, between countries—juggling assignments, battling changing weather conditions that swung between 11°C and 25°C, and trying to keep up with it all.… more
