The Alphabet Of Staying Alive
It’s been a while since I’ve been here - exactly 4 months to be precise, and a lot has happened since my last article here. I grew a year older within those 4 months and hopefully wiser in the process. I "managed" to hit some really stormy waters in both my personal and professional life, but thanks to God that is now behind me and I am totally grateful to God for rescuing me.
And then when I was just getting ready to take Q2 of 2020 by the horns, boooom! Ms Rona came into the world and decided to poke her long stinking fingers in the affairs of planet earth. Speaking of Ms Rona, earlier today I saw a quote that really got me thinking hard. This is what the quote said: “For people in business, 2020 is really just a year for staying alive. Don’t even talk about your dreams or plans. Just make sure you stay alive. If you can stay alive, then you would have made a profit already.” Jack Ma, Alibaba Group
Well, I do not know for sure whether he really did say those words but whatever the case, they got me thinking that indeed we need to do whatever we can to stay alive. Ironically, those words got my juices flowing and for the first time in 4 months, I felt something stir in my spirit and my desire to write is back to life after a long time. Talk about staying alive!
And so for the next 13 days starting from tomorrow 2ndMay, I will be sharing with you what I am calling the Alphabet of Staying Alive during these crazy times.
Tomorrow I will start with A for Avoid. Of course you know you’ve been told to avoid touching your face, being in crowded areas and even shaking hands.
Well, I can bet you I'll not be talking about those standard “avoids”. I have a few others such as avoid grabbing cake and mandazi every time you go to the kitchen and if you must really eat something, then chew on something healthy like a cucumber!
Later in the day I will also talk about B for Believe! Believe it or not, you need to believe in the right things at a time like this. What things are those? Find out in tomorrow’s second post.
I also have a [NEW] surprise for you…… find out about this surprise in tomorrow’s posts.
Remember, despite the crazy times we are living in, I am still encouraging you to be ignited, be inspired and be influenced to become the best version of yourself you can ever be. And trust me when I say this, this is the time to work on being that best version of yourself because surviving Ms. Rona and all her theatrics will require that version of you.
It's good to be back and writing again.
