Two Months down the line, how has The LW Blog impacted your life?

Submitted by Liz on 12 September 2012

It has been about two months now since the creation of The LW Blog, and its fanpage and during that time I have had an amazing experience with different people; those I know and those I don't. The one major highlight in those two months is when I receive messages from people telling me how they have been inspired, motivated or encouraged by the posts I frequently post up.

License to Grill

Anyone ever watched "License to Grill"? It's a cuisine show that comes on DSTV every so often hosted by Rob Rainford. One thing I can say is that he is really wicked in the kitchen (and quite good looking too…Ahem) The guy whips meals that are sure to make you hungry as you follow him around his kitchen from the comfort of your living room …. Just thinking about those meals is making me hungry right now.

Coffee or Chocolate?

As usual, every minute of my day always presents me with an opportunity to learn a lesson or two. The most interesting thing is that these lessons happen in the most unexpected moments, and through the most unexpected messengers. My latest lesson happened at the supermarket, delivered to me by a cute, little, startlingly adorable not-more-than-3-years-old-boy. He had this mop of shockingly black hair, nicely trimmed to elegantly sit on his tiny head. I have to admit that when I first saw him, my first instinct was to run my fingers through his hair......Digressing again!

How many can you count?

When was the last time you took time off from your "complaints time table" to thank your creator for everything going on for you in your life? This is a question I had to ask myself last evening after spending time with a certain lady, young enough to be my mother, but so bogged down by excessive baggage from her past that she looked like my grandmother......

Looks like September is going to be jam-packed with interesting events, and what better way to kickstart the event full month than by the famous Dar Es Salaam Charity Goat Races! The Goats are ready for this year's Olympics too!

Life has a way of swinging issues to us that look like mountains sometimes. Whatever the case, we never have a choice but to face those "mountains" and find a way of overcoming them. Well, we are offering you an opportunity to face a mountain literally; the Mount Kilimanjaro.

Questions without Answers

Isn't It Strange

Isn't it strange how a $100 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to the temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a Football game for 60 minutes?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at the temple and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

The ABC of Life

The Alphabet was not just a set of letters we learnt in school to serve as a basis of word creation; I have recently discovered that if well used, these same letters can create a road map to help us lead a less stressful and more fulfiling life, as explained below.....

A - Accept:  Accept others for who they are and for the choices they've made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.
