From Unknown To Unmissable
So… last week, I promised to share what happened when an unexpected opportunity knocked on my door—or rather, slid into my inbox—thanks to the blog I had started way back in 2011.
It’s easy to think satisfaction comes from getting what you want.
That dream job. That bigger space. That recognition you've worked so hard for.
And yes, those things are good. Necessary, even.
But over time, I’ve learned that the deepest kind of satisfaction doesn’t always come from chasing what you want.
It comes from helping others get what they need.
From showing up for people.
From seeing a gap and choosing to fill it.
From lifting someone, even when you’re waiting for your own breakthrough.

There are moments in life where fear creeps in, and sometimes this fear is baseless… sometimes it’s just fear of the unknown.
Then come the whispers of self-doubt, and the moments when you stop believing in yourself, in your abilities, in what you bring to the table. And as if that’s not enough, comparison steps in making it feel like everyone else is ahead while you’re stuck figuring things out.
So… last week, I promised to share what happened when an unexpected opportunity knocked on my door—or rather, slid into my inbox—thanks to the blog I had started way back in 2011.
If you’ve been following the last few #StorySaturday posts, then you’ll remember the journey that started with a keynote in 2017 and led me to Heritage Insurance Company — and ultimately to the beginning of a book club. Now, that book club might have seemed like just another client activity, but in hindsight, it would quietly open doors I didn’t even know existed.

After writing today’s #StorySaturday post about how one act of obedience turned into a life-changing connection, I knew exactly which book needed to be this week’s recommendation.
Last week, I missed our usual #StorySaturday. Life was a bit full, and by the time I remembered on Monday… well, Saturday had already passed me by. So, here I am—back, and picking up from where we left off.
If you remember, I shared how a simple act of sitting quietly in a café reading a book led to an unexpected conversation… and that conversation opened the door to a whole new world I hadn't planned for. (If you missed that post, you might want to scroll back and catch up 😉)
