Coffee or Chocolate?

As usual, every minute of my day always presents me with an opportunity to learn a lesson or two. The most interesting thing is that these lessons happen in the most unexpected moments, and through the most unexpected messengers. My latest lesson happened at the supermarket, delivered to me by a cute, little, startlingly adorable not-more-than-3-years-old-boy. He had this mop of shockingly black hair, nicely trimmed to elegantly sit on his tiny head. I have to admit that when I first saw him, my first instinct was to run my fingers through his hair......Digressing again!

Fear of the Unknown

They say if you are receptive and open minded enough, then every minute of your life offers great opportunities to learn a lesson or two. Yesterday's opportunity came through the most unexpected quarters.... A cat.... Yeah yeah yeah..... My love for animals knows no boundaries. I bond with them all (well, as long as they are not planning on having me for breakfast, lunch, dinner or any in-between meals). So, where did I meet this cat?

How many can you count?

When was the last time you took time off from your "complaints time table" to thank your creator for everything going on for you in your life? This is a question I had to ask myself last evening after spending time with a certain lady, young enough to be my mother, but so bogged down by excessive baggage from her past that she looked like my grandmother......

Isn't it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a Football game for 60 minutes?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at the temple and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

The ABC of Life

The Alphabet was not just a set of letters we learnt in school to serve as a basis of word creation; I have recently discovered that if well used, these same letters can create a road map to help us lead a less stressful and more fulfiling life, as explained below.....

A - Accept:  Accept others for who they are and for the choices they've made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.

Arrogance, Over-confidence or Complacency?

Over a week ago, I remember seeing a highly confident group of #TeamKenya athletes at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, about to take off for the London Olympics. In fact, they were so over optimistic that when asked, the national coach confidently (almost to the point of sounding arrogant) stated that his team was so ready that this time round, there would be more than 10 gold medals and three times the total of medals to be expected by Kenya.
