Book 5: What You Think of Me Is None of My Business by Terry Cole-Whittaker

๐Ÿ“š #SaturdayShelfie (on a Sunday!): Book 5 โ€“ What You Think of Me Is None of My Business by Terry Cole-Whittaker

I know today isnโ€™t Saturday, but better late than never!

Todayโ€™s title is interesting. I donโ€™t know what was going on in the authorโ€™s mind and life when they chose it, but I can relate. Lately, Iโ€™ve found myself caring less about what people think of meโ€”and honestly, itโ€™s freeing.

It reminds me of the old fable about the man, his son, and their donkey heading to the market. Along the way, people kept giving them advice:
โ€ข โ€œWhy isnโ€™t the boy riding?โ€
โ€ข โ€œWhy isnโ€™t the old man riding?โ€
โ€ข โ€œWhy not both ride?โ€
โ€ข โ€œHow cruel to overburden the donkey!โ€

Trying to please everyone, they kept changing what they were doingโ€”until, in the end, they lost the donkey altogether.

This book is a reminder that you canโ€™t live your life based on what others thinkโ€”because no matter what you do, someone will always have an opinion. It teaches us to trust ourselves, stop seeking approval, and focus on what truly matters.

Why should you read this book?
โœ”๏ธ To stop worrying about what others think.
โœ”๏ธ To break free from self-doubt and fear.
โœ”๏ธ To live for yourself, not for other peopleโ€™s approval.

At the end of the day, you canโ€™t please everyoneโ€”so why not focus on pleasing yourself?

So, thatโ€™s my read for this week. What are you reading this week? Post your #Shelfie, tag me, and use #SaturdayShelfie.
