๐#SaturdayShelfie: Book 6 โ Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven
Before we get into the book, letโs be clearโmaking your own bed is not a gender role. Itโs a life skill just like showering, or brushing your teeth or combing your hair.
Teach your children to make their own beds and not to wait for the help to do it. Teach them life skills that will serve them well, even when they are no longer at home, and when you are no longer there to guide them.
Self-discipline starts with the small things. Do you organize your clothes, shoes, socks, and utensils, or do you wait for the help to do it for you? The little things in life matter more than we realize. Taking responsibility for them builds discipline, order, and self-respect.
Now that that's out of the way....
This weekโs book, Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven, is about how small habits create discipline, which builds character, and which in turn shapes success.
Written by a Navy SEAL, itโs full of lessons on resilience, grit, and personal responsibility. The simple act of making your bed each morning can set the tone for a productive and successful day.
Why should you read this book?
โ๏ธ To understand why small actions lead to big success.
โ๏ธ To build mental toughness and resilience.
โ๏ธ To realize that discipline isnโt about perfectionโitโs about consistency.
At the end of the day, waiting for someone else to handle your responsibilities wonโt get you far. Take charge. Start small. And build the habits that will serve you for life.
