I don’t know about your neighborhood but where I live, there seems to have a serious mosquito invasion. I am no scientist but I can almost bet that the species of mosquitos we are being attacked by are more resilient and more resistant to the usual insecticides we use. We’ve always known that mosquitoes attack us at night and so we do everything possible to make sure they don’t get us. We sleep under insecticide-coated nets and use mosquito repellent in the late evenings to keep them away from us.
I don’t know why but it seems like nowadays my days are full of challenging and annoying moments than there are happy and easy times. If it isn’t one issue then it will definitely be another. If it isn’t one person working really hard at driving me insane, then it will be another working equally hard if not harder to give me a heart attack.
I’m not sure what had happened to him for Edmund Burke to say, “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Maybe some pick-pocket had picked his pockets, or some cashier at some supermarket had short-changed him, or some civil servant had refused to offer him some service he needed until he gave him some bribe, etc. Whatever it was that had happened to him for him to come up with that saying, I agree with him totally.
Most of the problems in life are because of two reasons:
Now you know.
Once upon a time there were five monkeys who lived together for a very long time. Each morning they would wake up and go up a tree that was close by, with a bunch of bananas to feed on for the day. Each evening they would go down the tree to rest for the night, and start the same process the next day. Though they lived in a very big forest, all they were familiar with was the tree they spent their day on top of and its immediate surroundings, where they slept at night.
Life is very confusing at times, especially when so many things happen that don’t make “sense”. For instance, anyone remember the story or rather the theory of evolution? I remember when I was in school I was told that people evolved from some kind of monkeys, or was it chimpanzees? At that time the story seemed very logical and I “bought” it without questions. After all, my teachers were meant to know everything, right?
